This person performs dental cleanings, provides information and advice about oral hygiene and can carry out preventive treatments. You can think of applying a protective layer to teeth or molars.
Is the dental hygienist reimbursed by the basic insurance?
A visit to the dental hygienist is fully reimbursed for insured persons up to the age of 18 by the basic health insurance package. If you are 18 or older, you can only be reimbursed if you take out additional (dental) insurance.
